Christchurch Public Library System

I found some useful mathematics books in the Christchurch Public Library System.

University of Canterbury

At the University of Canterbury, the library dedicated to physics and engineering is officially called the Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) Library | Te Puna Pūkaha me te Pūtaiao. It is at 57 Creyke Road, Ilam, Christchurch 8041. The 100 bus route goes there.

I went hunting for books in the Mathematics Section. The library uses the Library of Congress system. QA322 was the section for books on Functional Analysis. There were a lot of books. I was looking for books on Hilbert Spaces, then broadened my search to John von Neumann, Monte Carlo, etc. I took a lot of notes and confirmed that Hilbert spaces are highly relevant to Pipi.

I also met, over several days, with staff from the computer engineering, software, and mathematics departments to discuss future collaboration opportunities after Ajabbi's successful scaling.

I'll need to find some very good mathematicians. Their absence will be a limiting factor.

Christchurch

I attended many local meetings with software developers (IT Curry, WordPress Meetup) and met with potential suppliers and agencies. Christchurch seems to offer strong opportunities, talent and interest. I learned a great deal by asking questions and listening.
